SHEQ
WHAT IS SHEQ?
SHEQ stands for Safety, Health, Environment and Quality. It provides the framework for managing risk and protecting people and the environment, while ensuring consistent project delivery. A dedicated internal SHEQ team supports all projects through group-wide policies tailored to complex industrial work. Continuous attention and improvement remain essential.
Our approach
QUALITY
Ensuring that processes, deliverables and outcomes meet defined standards and contractual requirements.
ENVIRONMENT
Minimising environmental impact and managing activities in a responsible and sustainable manner.
HEALTH
Protecting the physical and mental wellbeing of everyone involved in or affected by the work.
SAFETY
Preventing incidents and ensuring that work is carried out without harm to people or assets.

PEOPLE FIRST
Safety performance is measured in data and results. However, figures alone do not define safety.
At Van Vliet, people are our most important asset. We invest in their development. Training needs are identified through collaboration between Human Resources and SHEQ, with input from employees themselves.
We have a moral responsibility to our employees, clients, contractors, suppliers and the communities in which we operate. Protecting people — and the environments they work in — remains a priority.

CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT
Our Group Management Systems provide a structured framework aligned with recognised industry best practices and applicable regulatory requirements worldwide.
Continuous improvement is a standing objective. Systems are reviewed and updated in line with international standards and accreditations. Lessons are captured from both internal and external cases. A hazard reporting system enables employees, contractors and client teams to report observations and identify areas for improvement.
